Women and music networks

Taking as a starting point the articles included in Historical Soundscapes since its online launch on 21 September 2021 and coinciding with my incorporation to the research team of the project Women and music netwoks in Granada: Dialogues between past and present, led by Ascensión Mazuela Anguita and sponsored by MediaLab (University of Granada), within the framework of Culture and Digital Society Research Projects 2021, we started the cartographic project Women and music networks. With a global geographical framework and a chronology c.1200-c.1800, our main aim is to explore the contribution of women to the processes of creation and performance of music, to its promotion, dissemination and discourse, as well as its role as a node in social and artistic networks woven in the different strata of medieval and modern society. The user can access the contents of this project through the "Cartographic Projects" tab in the main menu or by using the search engine offered by the Historical Soundscapes platform. We have added the generic tag "women and musical networks project" to all the articles included, which has been created as a "type of event" for easy identification.
